Eulemur macaco macaco
Found in the North-western tip of Madagascar, black lemurs live in groups ranging from 2 to 15 individuals. As with most lemur species the females are dominant over males. Females are a tawny brown colour while males are black in colour. Black lemur’s diet primarily consists of fruit but they will eat flowers, leaves, fungi and some invertebrates.
