Come and see our new babies
Howletts is welcoming the summer in style with more exciting new arrivals born at the park in June 2017. Two baby Eastern Mountain Bongo, a boy and a girl, arrived within a week of each other and have joined an exciting growing family of this endangered species at Howletts.
Both bongos are bred from the same father called Sam, with the boy's mother being Suruali and the little girl's mother called M'Buzi. This is now the third generation of bongo in the paddock.
As well as the successful breeding programme of Bongo at Howletts, The Aspinall Foundation also work with the Bongo Surveillance Project (BSP) to supply camera traps which enables them to monitor wild populations and track what is now a growing population of an endangered species.
Throughout July Kids Go Free to Howletts Wild Animal Park so why not introduce your little ones to our new arrivals!
