As our Assistant Night Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth overnight operations at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve. Leading the Night Team, you will oversee security and operational continuity, whilst acting as the Person Responsible (PR) during your shift. You will be the first point of contact for any guest queries or incidents, ensuring our high standards are maintained throughout the night.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle situations calmly and professionally. You will also be responsible for training and developing the Night Team, ensuring they deliver an outstanding experience for every guest.
Who we are looking for:
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should have proven experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally within hospitality or tourism, and be comfortable making decisions, handling guest concerns professionally, and leading a high-performing team. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with confidence using personal radios and IT systems such as Microsoft Office 365 and room booking platforms (Opera experience preferred).
A full, valid UK driving licence (manual gearbox) is required, along with a solid understanding of GDPR, Health & Safety, and Fire Safety regulations. Experience with night audit processes would be an advantage. Desirable qualities include experience in a conservation, leisure, or tourism setting, formal training in hospitality or customer service, and a passion for wildlife conservation. First Aid certification is also beneficial.
Contract details:
This is a part-time, permanent position, working 25 hours a week, four days out of seven. Working hours will be between 18:00– 08:00 depending on the requirements of the department. Availability required on weekdays and weekends. The Assistant Night Manager will report directly to our Guest Relations Manager & Front of House Manager. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
