Full time, fixed term contract (6-months)
Are you wild about creating memorable experiences?
Do you want to work in a place where you can hear calls from troops of howler monkeys, or the roars from a pride of lions?
The Howletts Wild Animal Trust, which oversees Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, are looking for a Junior Marketing Executive to join our Marketing Team on a fixed term, 6-month contract.
Are you a creative and ambitious marketeer ready to take the next step in your career? As our Junior Marketing Executive, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the marketing team to execute impactful campaigns and build brand awareness for Howletts and Port Lympne across local and national platforms.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager and team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a variety of marketing channels, including email, social media, SEO, paid search, PR, and out-of-home advertising. From crafting SEO-optimised website content and designing engaging email campaigns to supporting influencer visits and analysing campaign performance with Google Analytics, you’ll help ensure our marketing efforts shine across all channels. This role also includes coordinating with suppliers, managing budgets, conducting competitor analysis, and keeping our visitor-facing content fresh and up to date.
Who we are looking for:
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for marketing and a desire to grow their skills. You’ll have a basic understanding of marketing channels and reporting tools, alongside strong computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you’ll be crafting content and working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers. Being organised is key - you’ll need to prioritise tasks, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines with ease.
We value team players who can collaborate with others while confidently taking ownership of individual responsibilities. A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude will ensure you succeed in this dynamic and fast-paced environment. If you’re ready to build on your marketing knowledge and contribute to exciting campaigns, we’d love to hear from you!
Contract details:
This is a 6-month, fixed term contract, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9-5pm. On the occasion, you might be required to work a weekend day dependant on business needs. The role is based at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve near Folkestone and reports directly into the Marketing Manager. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location.
Why you should join us:
As well as walking to work surrounded by the calls of Howler monkeys and the roars from our pride of Lions, you will also join a supportive team who are passionate about their place of work.
You can also expect a host of other benefits including:
• 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, pro-rata to start date and working hours, rising with length of service.
