Tailor Your Day
Your Port Lympne day can be tailored to suit you. You can arrive as the Gatehouse opens to make the most out of the park, arrive for lunch or book a short break to experience the park at night or before visitors arrive early morning. To make the most out of your day we recommend that you allow around 4-5 hours for the park.

Book NowBefore You Arrive
For your day at Port Lympne it is recommended to wear comfy footwear and bring waterproof clothing. The 600 acres of Kentish savannah are all outdoor walking routes. This includes a combination of flat and hilly terrain, steep hills alongside flatter areas with a main steep hill from the Gatehouse entrance to the main park. The terrain is generally tarmac, with some areas wood chipped or with tree roots or natural springs running underneath them. The reserve runs an on-request internal shuttle to aid guests with any mobility issues to return up the steep terrain. This can be arranged with a member of the team on the day. For more guidance please read our accessibility page.
AccessibilityOur Animals
Our animals live in large spaces which closely resemble their natural habitat, this includes lots of natural foliage and furniture to provide shelter and camouflage. This means that you may not always see them straight away. It is always a good idea to approach the animals quietly or to check back throughout the day after they have woken up or feeding time.
For an extra challenge some of our animals are nocturnal, camouflaged or live up high, see if you can spot them.
- The Binturong make their homes in the canopy of tall tropical forests.
- The Pallas Cat changes its coat colour seasonally to allow them to blend into their rocky habitat
- Rusty Spotted Cats are nocturnal predators
Our friendly staff are always on hand to answer any questions and to help spot any hard to see animals.
