As autumn sets in and the leaves begin to turn, what better way to celebrate the season’s rich bounty than with a leisurely Sunday roast at The Garden Room restaurant within Port Lympne Reserve.
One of Kent’s best-kept secrets, our vibrant contemporary dining space is throwing open its doors to herald the return of this timeless English dish.
Rapidly becoming an acclaimed destination in its own right, The Garden Room was recently described by insideKENT magazine as “a real must, especially for food lovers that appreciate the use of local and artisan produce.” The restaurant’s prime location in the heart of the reserve offers diners the unique opportunity for an after-dinner walk around 600 stunning acres of parkland seeing 900 fascinating rare and endangered animals.
Executive Chef Lee Edney’s exceptional take on one of the finest English traditions showcases Kent’s produce in refined style. Classic roast sirloin of beef in rich red wine gravy, succulent chicken breast or confit duck leg accompany golden duck fat roast potatoes, garden-fresh seasonal vegetables and flavourful silky-smooth cauliflower purée.
With a selection of delectable starters and indulgent desserts such as chocolate and orange baked alaska, a feast of perfect winter comfort food awaits diners.
Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve’s Managing Director, Tony Kelly, said: “Sunday Roast is the ultimate time-honoured family tradition and we’re delighted to be bringing it back for autumn. The Garden Room offers sophisticated flavours that truly shine a spotlight on Kent’s glorious harvest.”
The restaurant has a strong commitment to championing local artisan suppliers and all produce is sustainably sourced.
Executive Chef Lee Edney added: “Our new Sunday roast menu places a strong emphasis on provenance and making seasonal ingredients sing. With locally sourced vegetables, fresh fish from the dayboats in Rye, outstanding local cheeses and a wealth of fresh fruit sourced within our own estate, we make full use of the abundant natural larder on our doorstep.”
Served 12:30 - 7:30pm every Sunday, The Garden Room’s roast menu is available from £33pp for 2 courses and £38pp for 3 courses for Park members or overnight guests.
