Barasingha are found in Northern and Central India, and are also known as swamp deer. In the wild they live in large herds and have been seen in groups of up to 250 animals.
Barasingha have a lovely red coat in the summertime, but as the mating season approaches, the male coat turns a darker shade of brown. Stags have a very impressive set of antlers and these can have up to 14 points, also known as tines.
