Speothos venaticus
Part of the canid family bush dogs are rare and little is known about them. They are small and semi-aquatic with webbed feet and live in social extended family groups of up to 12 members, with an alpha female who will produce the young. Mostly observed hunting in pairs for large rodents, such as agouti they have also been known to hunt as a pack to take down larger prey such as Capybara. Found from northern south America to Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador.
