Equus quagga chapmani
They live in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana, their habitat is savanna and plains of Africa. They eat grasses and shrubs. Their life span is 30 years.
There are 3 species of zebra - plains zebra, mountain zebra and the Grevy’s zebra. The Chapman zebra is a subspecies of plains zebra. They are one of the few mammals that can see in colour but cannot see the colour orange – no matter how many carrots they eat!
