Eland live in Africa in savannah, plains and mountain habitats. They have a life span of 25 years. They have a diet of grasses, leaves, fruit and herbs.

Fun facts:
- When male eland walk they make a loud clicking noise, this is believed to be from the tendon in their leg slipping and acting like a string being plucked. The larger the male the louder the click.
- The darkness of the males’ hair supposedly indicates how aggressive they are.
- The eland is the biggest of all the antelope species.
