IUCN STATUS: Least concern
Cercopithecus neglectus
One of the most distinctive looking African primates, De Brazza have an orange-red crescent shaped patch on their brow, they also have a white muzzle which extends into a long, white beard. A very shy and inconspicuous primate, they use their cheek pouches to store food, enabling them to move to a safe location to eat. In certain regions, such as the Gabon, De Brazza monkeys reside in small, monogamous family groups.
