Diet
Orangutans are omnivores, their diet consists mainly of fruits, leaves, flowers, bark, nuts and seeds, and some small mammals and insects.
Native
Orangutans are native to moist lowland forest, montane forest and peat swamps in the north of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Threats
The most major threats to Orangutans are the destruction of habitats due to the creation of oil palm plantations, other agricultural plantations and illegal logging in protected areas. Other major threats can include conflict with humans and the illegal pet trade.
